The Gift of Joy

Maria* is a single mother of four children.  A few years ago, her abusive husband was arrested and imprisoned. Maria worked hard to support her family on her own. When their rent in Redwood City suddenly skyrocketed, they were forced to leave. The family ended up moving to a LifeMoves shelter, where they were able to save money for a couple of months and eventually find a place of their own in Santa Clara.

When we arrived to their apartment, the family was sleeping on the floor and sharing beds.

When our volunteers arrived, they got to work building furniture, hanging photos, and giving Maria’s family the home they deserve.

When Maria and her two sons came home for the final reveal, they were overjoyed. Maria cried as she took in her new home.

Thank you so much! Everything is so beautiful. – Maria

Thank you

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered at Tierra Linda, and volunteered at the apartment to help support this family and give them a huge boost during their transition back to housing.

And as always, we could do none of this without the gift of CHIPMAN RELOCATION AND LOGISTICS.

With gratitude,

Donna and Chris
